Ultra uses a built-in inflatable wrist cuff. When you start a measurement, the cuff automatically inflates and detects pressure changes at the wrist, then displays your systolic, diastolic, and pulse results on the watch. For better readings, stay seated and keep your wrist at heart level.
No. Blood pressure measurements are taken on demand. You start a reading from the Blood Pressure screen or use the function-button shortcut. Ultra can remind you when it is time to take a measurement, but it does not continuously inflate the cuff or continuously measure blood pressure.
Blood pressure naturally changes throughout the day. Posture, wrist position, strap tightness, movement, talking, stress, exercise, meals, alcohol, smoking, and measurement time can all affect a reading. For more consistent results, measure under similar conditions and keep your wrist at heart level.
The watch should feel secure and snug, but not overly tight. Keep the air cuff flat against your wrist without folding or shifting. If the watch feels loose or readings vary widely, tighten the strap by one or two holes. The recommended wrist fit is approximately 14–22 cm (5.5–8.7 in).
